Parking as part of the mobility chain – a reality in Luxembourg

|   Parking-Solutions

In Luxembourg, mobility is viewed holistically—and parking is an important part of that. With the grand opening of the Hippodrom parking garage at the train station in Diekirch, switching from cars to public transportation is now even easier.

Scheidt & Bachmann Parking Solutions is proud to contribute to the municipality of Diekirch's efforts to offer its residents and visitors a forward-looking mobility concept with the installation of the new parking management system.
The parking garage supports the city's goal of reducing car traffic in the center and promoting the use of public transportation. As a modern mobility hub, it ensures seamless transitions between different modes of transportation.

With 649 parking spaces, including 60 with electric charging stations, the parking garage is committed to sustainability. Solar panels on the roof generate clean energy.
But the real progress lies in the software: for the first time in Luxembourg, both the INDIGO Group Neo app and the Park&Ride app from CFL - Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois are integrated here. Drivers can conveniently enter the car park via license plate recognition. A particularly attractive feature is that anyone who parks their vehicle in the "Hippodrom" using the CFL app and then continues their journey by bus or train can park for free. An intelligent occupancy display also provides real-time information on available parking spaces.

The example of Diekirch impressively demonstrates that modern parking systems are a central component of sustainable, connected mobility.
