With WeChat, Swiss transport companies want to offer their Asian tourists in particular a completely new travel experience. To achieve this, they rely on the newly developed mini program for WeChat from Scheidt & Bachmann.

With the mini program “Swiss Tourism and Attractions” WeChat users in Switzerland can purchase train tickets as well as reserve seats, they can also comfortably access the extensive range of services offered by the transport companies in their online shops. The Mini Program synchronises itself in real time with the available offers of the providers, avoiding actions such as overbooking. In the future, WeChat users will be able to use the mini program to access a wide range of services throughout Switzerland - from train journeys to restaurant visits and shopping.

Scheidt & Bachmann's Mini Program provides special offers to the WeChat user, such as tickets for the Jungfraujoch and the Gornergratbahn (Matterhorn) as well as all the information associated with the offer. If the user chooses the offer, they can pay for the ticket with just a few clicks and receive it directly on their mobile phone. In the background, the Mini Program automatically charges the operator the fee.

Since the launch of the Mini Program on 19 September 2019, the following offers, among many more, can be booked:

    • Top of Europe, Jungfraujoch incl. reservation and priority boarding
    • Glacierexpress incl. reservation of the new Excellence Class
    • Gornergrat Bahn incl. reservation
    • Firstbahn
    • Schynige Platte
    • Harder Kulm
    • Jungfrau Travel Pass for 3 - 7 days to use all attractions in the Jungfrau region

WeChat is the most used app in the Asian countries and includes various functions from chatting with friends to booking doctor's appointments and ordering food. It is the all-rounder among the apps and combines everything for which you need different apps e.g. in Europe. WeChat uses so-called mini programs as apps in the app. Applications from external providers that are integrated as mini-programs on the WeChat platform are immediately ready for use within the WeChat ecosystem.
